To help STAARS maintain records necessary for continuing federal funding, we require STAARS students to notify project staff of changes in their home address or phone number, and to respond in a timely manner to e-mail notifications and other communications. Having an active e-mail address that you check regularly is an expected part of academic success; many of your instructors will request your e-mail address and nearly all of them will respond to e-mails more readily than to phone calls. If you need assistance learning to use e-mail or getting an e-mail address, Ira Lau (days) and Abdullah Yahya (evenings) will help you to set one up and show you how to use it. You can reach Ira and Abdullah at (650) 738-4220 and through the TRIO Mentoring webpage. Once you have an email account, it is your responsibility to maintain your email address, to notify the program if that address changes, and to check this email address at least twice each week. If you neglect these responsibilities, you may jeopardize your active status in the program and may not be eligible for grant aid or services.

To change your email information using the TRIO website, please log on to www.skylinestaars.org. Go to “Student Pages” (scroll down the left-hand side of the screen). You can log in using your first name and email account on record. Once there, you can change the email address.
