TRIO / STAARS Student Selection Process

1. Stage One: TRIO applications are evaluated at the beginning of each semester and, if openings occur, on an ongoing basis. Each application is evaluated according to the following criteria:

FINAL SCORE:
     

To pass the first level of qualification, students must score at least 8. Those who score below 7 receive Ineligible Letter.

* These items have follow-up questions intended to encourage the student to seek further assistance in determining whether they meet this criterion: application for financial aid and testing for suspected learning disability (Skyline College provides this testing free of charge in Lynne Douglas's office).

2) Stage Two: After forms are evaluated, Office Assistant checks validity of information through Banner screens _____ and ________. (Bonnie, please complete this part.) Student receives Eligibility Letter.
